Except for your own backup the disc or documentation cannot be copied, trans M}mitted, or reproduced in any fashion, whole or in part without the written permission of JVB Software. Thank you for helping N}maintain the loyalty and integrity of atari owners. Both beginning and advanced users will appreciate the easy, one key t O}ouch operation along with the speed and accuracy of 100% machine language programming. If you've ever had trouble balancin P}g your check book or hasseling with that expensive spreadsheet this program should help. You can be 'in and out' of the CORE Q}very quickly to keep the checking account up to date with a minimum of time and effort. The secret code section is bypasse R}d upon shipping to allow you access to all three programs. Entering your new code is covered later in the CORE version explan S}ation. -- STARTING OUT -- From 'all systems off', turn on the disc drive and wait for it to stop, then insert T}the LASERTELLER disc. Turn on the computer and in a few seconds the 'program select' screen will appear with a short countdow U}n timer (5 seconds) to allow program selection before the full version loads. Press the START button and the 'SETUP' program V}will load and run. You don't have to change any of the warning or charge parameters, but you will have to enter your state W} tax rate and your return address. To save time the tax rate, low balance warnings and service charges can all be entered fir X}st and THEN SAVED all at once. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: If you ever change your mind at a prompt, 'Y/N' or input, just press th Y}e RETURN key to exit and cancel. (after input of course you must press return) Once the SETUP screen is up the menu will s Z}how- LOW BALANCE WARNINGS- Two warnings, one for checking (laserteller) and one for savings. These will be dollar amounts [} which will turn the appropriate screen red when the current balance reaches below the amount entered. Both are set to zero n \}ow. SERVICE CHARGES- Again one for checking and one for savings. These will be the charges the bank will make for every ' ]}WITHDRAWL' or 'TRANSFER FROM' transaction (ala ATM). You can check with your bank to see exactly what the charges would be or ^} if they're monthly just deduct them once a month from your statement. If you don't feel like entering the amount from you're _} statement, just enter an arbitrary amount ($0.50) to automatically cover the charges. This will mean your balance will not b `}e EXACT, of course, but you'll probably come out ahead. TAX RATE- This is YOUR OWN state tax rate, entered in DECIMAL FOR a}M. (i.e. 0.065 for 6.5% IN CALIFORNIA) SAVE- This function will save the low balance warnings, the service charges and the b} tax rate onto the LASERTELLER disc. You MUST remember to do this after they're all entered or the defaults will be used. c} RETURN ADDRESS- Enter your own address data for use by the labeler and ordering form letter. The first line is for NAME info d}rmation (don't forget to use the upper and lower case letters as appropriate), the second line is for STREET ADDRESS or P.O.B e}OX information and the third is for CITY, STATE and ZIP. Once the information is entered and correct it will be saved to the f}LASERTELLER disc immediately and independent of the SAVE function on the menu. One note on color setup, if the tint contr g}ol on your tv/monitor is set correctly for games or other software it's probably perfectly fine. Just in case, here's how it h}should look, the menu selections should be green and the message 'please select function' should be as red as possible. No i}w your ready to use LASERTELLER, turn off the computer and reboot. This time either press the 'select' button for the 'CORE' j}version or do nothing and the complete version of laserteller will load and run automatically. -- THE CORE VERSION - k}- The laserteller CORE program is a compact version of the laserteller checking section for speedy every day deposits or l}withdrawls. The functions consist of- DEPOSIT and WITHDRAWL, enter the amount then press RETURN (a 'return' only will can m}cel). Then you will be asked if it's correct. A 'Y' will make it so and an 'N' (or any key except 'Y') will cancel the transa n}ction. PREVIOUS will list the last eight transactions in order, that is, entry number one would be the most recent transa o}ction. SECRET CODE- The secret code can be changed from either the CORE program or the complete LASERTELLER (i.e. checkin p}g only). When you receive LASERTELLER the secret code is set to four zeros, which will BYPASS the code entry section. (this a } TAXABLE? Next you'll be asked if the items are taxable (out of state orders are NOT taxable. The tax will be calculated aur}tomatically with a 'Y'es response. (remember, upon shipping the tax rate is zero, so no tax will be calculated if no tax rates} was entered and saved in the SETUP program) SHIPPING CHARGES? 'Y'es will allow you to enter the shipping charges, which t}will be added to the total order. Any other key will continue. CANCEL ORDERS? 'Y'es will cancel all the ordering informatu}ion you just entered. To approve the orders and continue just press any other key. MERGE NOTE? Now you'll be asked if you} -- COMPLETE LASERTELLER PLUS -- LASERTELLER PLUS not only has checking and savings features but also includes a notebow}ok and an ordering section which have features like, mailing address storage, printing mailing and return address labels and x}a personalized order form letter. The following is a description of the different screen menu functions. -- LASERTELLy}ER SCREEN -- Features DEPOSIT, WITHDRAWL, PREVIOUS and SECRET CODE changes (as discussed in the CORE version). Access to z}the other screens of course and- TRANSFER- This feature will let you transfer funds FROM checking or savings TO the other{}. EXAMPLE: At the 'from Checking or Savings' prompt entering a 'C' would transfer the amount entered FROM checking TO savings|}, and entering an 'S' would transfer the amount FROM savings TO checking. -- SAVINGS SCREEN -- The savings featu}}res are basically clones of the laserteller features, except for the lack of a Transfer function. DEPOSIT, WITHDRAWL and it's~} own PREVIOUS listing of the last eight SAVINGS transactions. -- NOTES SCREEN --Features a convenient notebook wi}th twelve note pages to write loose bits of information on, like phone numbers, the amounts of payments, reminders, etc. (if }you care to add more note pages see the options section) The notebook features are- PREVIEW- Loads notepage one automatic}ally and will scan forward through the pages at the touch of any key (spacebar is very convenient). NOTEBOOK- This is whe}re you'll keep phone numbers and the like, we suggest you keep commonly used numbers on page 12 (one back) so page one is cle}ar for use with the order form if needed. >- Cursor position, moved up and down by the up and down arrows at the right si}de of the keyboard (actually the minus and equals signs). VERY IMPORTANT! The line the cursor is pointing to is the line cLrl}n will erase when the 'L' is pressed, and the line 'replace' will start with when the 'R' is pressed. PAGES- Move pages f}orward or backward with the left and right arrows on the right side of the keyboard (actually the plus and multiplication sig}ns). Clrpg- will clear the current note page COMPLETELY. cLrln- will clear the current note page LINE your working on}. (indicated by cursor (>) position) Savpg- save the page. VERY IMPORTANT! since sometimes it's hard to remember to SAVE }after you've carefully entered new information, if anything on the note page is altered, the top line on the page will turn R}ED and stay that way until the page is SAVED. Print- will print the current note page on your printer. Return- is the} exit to the notes screen. Replace- puts new text OVER the current line of text. It might be preferable to use cLrln befo}re replacing text so the 'underlines' will complete the note line if the new text is very short. The character for the 'under}line' is the SHIFT-minus key. Press RETURN when you're finished and keep pressing it until you return to the NOTES screen. On}ce again, the 'replacement' will start on the line the cursor is pointing to so you can start 'replacing' at any line you wis}h. -- ORDERING SCREEN -- Has submenus for Addressing, Order form, Print (addresses) and laBeler features describe}d below- ADDRESS- twelve address pages with six on a page, that's a total of seventy-two addresses, if this isn't enough }more pages can be added (see the options section). NOTE: Only the NAME line of the entire address is shown for compactness sa}ke. The submenu features are discussed below- >- Cursor up and down with the up and down arrows (no control key) exactly }as in the notes section. Pages- Move the pages forward or backward with the left and right arrows (no control key). C}all- will 'call' up the entire address the cursor is pointing to, any key will exit. ctl-Delete- will delete the address }pointed to by the cursor. NOTE: This is availiable only in the address section, not in the ordering section. Save- Save t}he address page. The top line will turn RED after any changes until SAVED. Return- exits the address section. Replace}- Position the cursor to point to the address you want to change or replace, then press the 'R' key. Press 'Y' to erase the c}urrent address or any other key to just make some changes to the existing one. ORDERING- Contains basically all the feat}ures of the address section except one. Ctl-Delete is replaced by ctl-Select, which 'selects' the mailing address used by the} ordering form. If you don't want to enter the mailing address for some reason you can 'select' a blank address. But it's adv}isable to enter it, that way you'll always have it in case you ever have to correspond with them again. You can also copy it }from the letter to the envelope if your not in the mood to make labels for a 'one time' order. VERY IMPORTANT! Once the m}ailing address has been selected you'll be asked for the check number. Entering a check number is the normal case and the las}erteller account will be updated automatically. If NO check number is entered (by just pressing return) the laserteller accou}nt will NOT be updated, for instance, a prepaid moneyorder that has been previously withdrawn from laserteller. If you want }to have the account updated with no check number, just enter a zero (0) as the check number. ENTER ORDER INFO- Entering t}he ordering information is simple and fast, first enter the quantity of items (usually one) then 'return'. Next the item pric}e (each, IN DECIMAL) and 'return'. Finally, the description (the most recent quantity and price are displayed on top), then '}return'. The total order will be printed in the top window at all times during the order. To finish ordering just press 'retu}rn' at the quantity prompt.] LOAD FILE3ERTELLER PLUS not only has checking and savings features but also includes a notebo* would like to merge a note from the notebook or compose one on a blank page. 'Y'es will transfer you to a BLUE (because of t}he merge status) notebook screen and the menu will contain a ctl-CONTinue ORDER function in place of Print and RETURN. This f}unction will continue the order form when you've composed or selected the note page to be added to the order form. If you cha}nge your mind, a blank note page will cancel the note on the order form. Any other key will continue the order form without a} note being printed. IS PRINTER READY? Now is a good time to write the check since the total amount of the order is still} on the screen, or if you like, from the letter later. If the printer is ready, the order form letter will be printed immedia}tely. PRINTED RECORD? After the letter is printed you will be asked if you would like a record of the order. A 'Y'es resp}onse will lead to another 'is printer ready' prompt (in case you have to put another piece of paper in your printer) a 'Y'es }at this prompt will print the record sheet. Any other key and the record sheet will not be printed and you will be returned t}o the ordering screen. PRINT- Prints the mailing addresses out to the printer in the three categories below. (no paper a}dvancement with this feature)- Single- Prints a single complete address, indicated by the cursor (>) position. this P}age- Prints the whole address page to the printer. All- Prints all of the address pages to the printer. LABELER- Pri}nts return or mailing address labels in any quantity to 999. The small labels (3 1/2 in. by 15/16 in.) are to be used for ret}urn address labels only. The large (4 in. by 1 7/16 in.) or the small labels can be used for mailing addresses. The label typ}e is the standard, tractor feed, available anywhere in the galaxy. After the printer is ready the following prompts will appe}ar. RETURN OR MAILING? When the 'R' is pressed, your return address will be loaded, when the 'M' is pressed a mini addres}s submenu will appear on the screen so you can select the mailing address you desire. LARGE OR SMALL LABELS? Mailing labe}l size (as mentioned above) can be selected here. OK FOR TEST PRINT? Once the address has been selected you will be ready} for a 'test print'. If the labels are not installed in the printer yet, now is the time to do so. Answer 'Y'es and ONE of th}e labels will be printed, any other key will cancel the test print and you will be ready for a quantity printing. HOW MAN}Y? Enter the number you wish printed and the program will start the printout. In between each label printing a copy counter w}ill be visible and the printing can be exited prematurely by holding down the 'SELECT' key. After exiting, the number of labe}ls printed will be displayed on the screen. ANOTHER? A 'Y'es will start at Return or Mailing, any other key will exit to }the ordering screen. -- OPTIONS SECTION -- If the supplied notebook or address pages are insufficient (a rare cas}e indeed), or if total disaster stikes and you've forgotten your secret code and lost your hidden reminder. You may send your} laserteller disc to JVB Software with $5 (shipping and handling) and a note stating whether or not you want the code cleared} or how many notebook or address pages you would like to add. It is possible to add 20 more notebook pages OR 12 more addr}llows anyone to gain access) The secret code is a four character sequence. It will accept numbers and letters, so you can }use a four digit number, a four letter word or a combination as your code. NOTE: Laserteller will NOT accept lower case or in }verse letters as part of the secret code. To activate a CODE CHANGE type the ctl-comma (heart) character at the 'please se }lect function' prompt of LASERTELLER or the CORE program. Changing the secret code in private might be advisable because it w }ill verify it ON THE SCREEN before saving it to disc. Again, if you want the secret code entry to be bypassed just enter four }ess pages, or a combination of both. Thank you for your support.
